Franco-Ukrainian journalist and director Anastasia Mikova began her career in print media, first for the international editions of the women’s magazine Marie Claire, then for Figaro Magazine. She then turned to television, becoming an investigative journalist and directing numerous documentary films for French channels such as France 2, France 3, and Canal+. Always focused on societal and humanist topics, she addresses themes as varied as surrogate mothers, organ trafficking and illegal immigration in her films..

Simultaneously, Anastasia Mikova works with brands on socially conscious and impactful campaigns, including the “Beauty & Belonging” project she produced and directed for Sephora. This film is selected to premiere at Sundance Festival and will be released by the brand in 2025.

2009

Vu du ciel

She became the editor-in-chief of the television show Vu du Ciel.

Presented by French photographer and activist Yann Arthus-Bertrand, this show dedicated to ecology and broadcast on Channel France 2 marks the beginning of their collaboration.

2014

HUMAN

They co-wrote the documentary project HUMAN, based on 2,000 testimonies collected in 70 different countries.

Presented at the UN and awarded at numerous festivals worldwide, to date, the film Human has been viewed by over 100million people.

2020

WOMAN

She continued her collaboration with Yann Arthus-Bertrand as co-director ofthe film WOMAN.

Dedicated to women worldwide, this documentary, again based on first-person testimonies, questions the place of women in today’s society and in tomorrow’s world.

The film was presented in a world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and then at international festivals. It was released in cinemas in France on March 4, 2020, and in over thirty countries worldwide.

2023

SUCH A RESOUNDING SILENCE

Anastasia Mikova began working on the documentary SUCH ARESOUNDING SILENCE.

Co-directed with famous French actress Emmanuelle Béart, who testifies for the first time about the incest she suffered in her childhood,the documentary deals with intra-family sexual abuse.

With women accounting for approximately 80% of reported incest victims, the director has the opportunity to address violence against women.

Broadcast on the M6 channel in September 2023,the taboo-breaking film provoked a true media and societal tsunami in France.
